Recognizing Outstanding 2023 Achievements

On March 25th, 2024, OCR members gathered at UCI for Orange County REALTORS®' Annual Membership Meeting and Market Forecast. Attendees heard a Treasurer's report from Charleen Nagata Newhouse, a legal update from Gov Hutchinson, and a report on Orange County's housing market from Steven Thomas. Furthermore, five OCR members were given special awards to recognize the work they've done within the real estate industry. President-Elect Ed Molina presented the Pillars of Excellence, Rockstar, Icon, and Leadership Legacy Awards, and invited each winner to the stage.

The Pillars of Excellence Award is awarded to a REALTOR® that embodies ethics, compassion, community, and inclusion. They are a role model to others through example and a high degree of sound judgement. They share knowledge by selfless mentoring, so others can excel. The Pillars of Excellence Award went to both Lisa Dunn and Lori Namazi who, upon acceptance, joked that it seems like they are attached at the hip.

The Icon Award celebrates a REALTOR® who is recognizable in the community. They are generous with their time and give selfless service supporting community organizations. Teri Miles was honored with the Icon Award and thanked everyone involved.

The Rockstar Award honors a REALTOR® who has consistent energy toward member involvement. They demonstrate a high degree of focus, commitment, resilience, discipline, and passion. Adam Rodell, who has championed the REALTOR® and Affiliate Wellness Group (RAW Group), received the Rockstar Award. He stated that RAW is his way of giving back to OCR, which has given him so much.

The Leadership Legacy Award recognizes a REALTOR® or Affiliate who sets an example for others resulting in a long-lasting impact. They have long-term involvement, service, and contribution beyond expected standards and duties at the Association and/or in the community. The Leadership Legacy Award was given to Len Herman, who thanked his wife Pat, his friends, and other leaders he's learned from. Len also assured future leaders that they may not know they're leaders yet, but "we'll find you."
